The Kogi West All Progressives Congress (APC) Leaders Forum has hailed the judgment of the Federal High Court, Abuja, which affirmed Hon. Samuel Bamidele Aro as the authentic winner of the APC Kogi West Senatorial District primary election.

In a press release signed by Right Hon. Alfa Imam on behalf of the Forum, the elders described the judgment as heartwarming and a victory for the party and the people of Kogi West.

“The Forum, comprising a reputable body of elders in the Kogi West Senatorial District, committed to the cause of good governance and the wellbeing of the people of the constituency, received the news with great joy,” the statement said.

The Forum said the judgment clearly showed that the judiciary remains the last hope of the common man.

“This judgement is heartwarming and victory for our great party and the people of Kogi West. It clearly shows that the Judiciary is indeed the last hope of the common man,” it stated.

According to the Forum, the judgment has corrected the injustice meted out to Hon. Aro by “the powers that be” which replaced him with Senator Sunday Karimi.

It recalled that it had earlier expressed outrage at the substitution of the duly elected APC candidate for the senatorial district.

“We made our stand clear without equivocation that we rejected the brazen and self-serving attempt to truncate the mandate freely given to Hon. Aro by party faithful,” the Forum said.

“Today, we are happy that the Judiciary has done the needful and we urge all constituents in our Senatorial District to accept the ruling in good faith.”

The Forum described Aro’s victory as well deserved and an affirmation of the trust the people of Kogi West have in him.

While urging the winner to be magnanimous in victory, the Forum also advised Senator Karimi to accept the result in good faith.

“While we urge the winner at the court to be magnanimous in victory and extend olive branch to Sen. Karimi, we advise the Federal Lawmaker to accept the result in good faith,” the statement added.

The elders expressed optimism of victory for Hon. Aro in the 2027 general elections, assuring that they were ready to mobilise massive support for him.

“We are very optimistic of victory for Hon. Aro as we are ready to mobilise massive support for him,” the Forum said.
