Following the judgment of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election for Kogi West, Hon. Sam Aro has called for unity, reconciliation and renewed commitment to the development.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, Aro said he received the judgment with gratitude to God, humility and a deep sense of responsibility.
He commended the judiciary for its commitment to the rule of law, due process and peaceful resolution of disputes through democratic institutions.
Aro said the judgment was not a moment of triumph over anyone, but a moment for reconciliation, reflection and renewed unity.
“There is no victor and no vanquished,” he said.
The APC chieftain extended a hand of friendship and brotherhood to Senator Sunday Karimi, describing his contributions to the political development of Kogi West as worthy of recognition and respect.
He stressed that their differences were never personal, adding that he harbours no ill feelings towards the senator.
“We may have found ourselves on opposing sides of a political contest, but we remain brothers, united by our shared heritage and our common responsibility to the good people of Kogi West,” Aro said.
He also appealed to Karimi’s supporters across the senatorial district, acknowledging their loyalty, commitment and passion, which he said the party must continue to value.
Aro assured that the mandate belongs not to him alone, but to every member of the APC and to the people of Kogi West, irrespective of political affiliation or past disagreements.
He warned against bitterness, triumphalism, recrimination or political exclusion, and appealed to his supporters to celebrate with moderation, dignity and respect for the feelings of others.
“Let no one use this judgment as an excuse to ridicule, provoke, or disparage Senator Karimi or any of his supporters,” he said.
Aro said the time had come to put differences behind them and redirect collective energies towards building a stronger, more united and more prosperous Kogi West.
As campaigns begin in earnest, he pledged to personally reach out to party leaders, stakeholders, elders, women, youths and supporters across the seven Local Government Areas of the district.
“No community will be considered too small, no stakeholder too insignificant, and no supporter too distant to be embraced in our collective journey,” he said.
He said his campaign would be anchored on unity, inclusion, mutual respect and a clear commitment to the development of Kogi West, with focus on expanding opportunities, strengthening representation and ensuring dividends of democracy reach communities.
Aro called on all APC leaders and members to close ranks and work in harmony to secure victory for the party in the 2027 general elections.
“The task before us is greater than any individual ambition. Our unity must be stronger than our differences, and our commitment to Kogi West must transcend every political contest,” he said.
He reiterated his readiness to sit with Senator Karimi and his supporters to exchange ideas, rebuild confidence and work in the collective interest of the people.
“While political contests may produce different outcomes, the bonds of brotherhood, friendship, and shared destiny must endure,” he added.
