The Kogi Anti-Fraud Campaign Team paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade, as part of ongoing engagements ahead of the statewide campus awareness tour.
During the visit, Hon. Oluseyi Kelvin Eleta, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Fraud and Internet Matters, introduced members of the delegation and presented a detailed briefing on the objectives of the Kogi Anti-Fraud Campaign.
He explained that the initiative is focused on educating young people, particularly students in tertiary institutions, on fraud prevention, cybercrime awareness, responsible use of digital platforms, and the legal consequences of internet-related offences.
In her response, Dr. Ayoade commended the initiative and expressed full approval and support for the campaign. She also assured the team of her readiness to provide necessary backing throughout the implementation stages.
She emphasized the need for sustained awareness at the grassroots level, noting that early engagement with young people would help shape positive values and reduce the attraction to fraudulent activities.
She further encouraged the team to work closely with relevant government agencies and educational institutions to ensure wider reach and effective delivery of the campaign messages.
Closing remarks were delivered by Hon. Clement Daudu, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Private Education Institution, and Hon. Munirat Bint Ibrahim, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Entrepreneurship.
Both officials appreciated the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State for her support and endorsement of the initiative, noting its importance in addressing and reducing internet fraud across the state.
Also present at the meeting was the Honourable Commissioner for Science and Innovation, Hon. Helen Aderibigbe, Ph.D., and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters (SGS Office), Hon. Femi Esemikose.
The visit forms part of a series of strategic engagements aimed at ensuring effective collaboration and successful execution of the Kogi Anti-Fraud Campaign.
