Kogi Legislator, Hon. Omotayo Donates 20 Street Lights to Ikoyi Community under  “Operation Light Up” Initiative

Following the recent attack on Ikoyi Community, the member representing Ijumu Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Omotayo l Adeleye Ishaya has donated about 20 Solar Street Lights to enhance illumination in the Community.

 

The donation which is under her “Operation Light Up Ikoyi”, Initiative is aimed at providing lighting especially in the wave of current security situation.

The street lights according to the State Legislator has been installed at strategic locations in the Community.

 

This intervention is designed to reduce criminal activities, improve night-time visibility, and enhance general community safety.

 

Hon. Omotayo Adeleye Ishaya also held high-level security and stakeholder engagement meetings with traditional rulers, community chiefs, youth leaders, and other key stakeholders.

 

The discussions focused on strengthening local security architecture and developing sustainable strategies to prevent future security breaches.

The Oba and council of chiefs expressed appreciation for the initiative and pledged continued collaboration with security agencies and government representatives to ensure lasting peace in the area.

The visit concluded with renewed assurances from community leaders to support government efforts in maintaining peace, unity, and vigilance across Ikoyi and surrounding areas.
