The people of Egbeda-Egga have expressed heartfelt felicitations to the President of Egbeda-Egga Development Union (EDU), Dr Emmanuel Dare Otitolaiye, and his wife, Mrs. Olufunso Otitolaiye, following their conferment of honourary chieftaincy titles.

The couple was on Saturday, 27th June, 2026, conferred with the titles of _Otunba Gbeluro_ and _Yeye Gbeluro_ of Ekinrin-Adde Kingdom by the Olu-Adde of Ekinrin-Adde, His Royal Majesty, Oba Anthony Bamigbaye Idowu, ACA, CON. The ceremony was held at the Baptist High School Field, Ekinrin-Adde, as part of activities marking this year’s Ekinrin-Adde Day Celebration.

According to the Ekinrin-Adde Traditional Council, the titles recognise the couple’s virtues of humility, compassion, and generosity. The Olu-Adde said the honour was in acknowledgment of their years of selfless service, humanitarian interventions, and commitment to community development.

Dr. Otitolaiye, who leads EDU, has been widely credited with championing unity, youth empowerment, and developmental projects across Egbeda-Egga and neighbouring communities. Mrs. Otitolaiye, President of EDU Women Wing and Managing Director of Golden Legacy Hotels and Resorts, has advanced women’s participation in community affairs, created jobs, and supported initiatives for the less privileged.

Speaking on behalf of Egbeda-Egga, former EDU President and Chairman of the Egbeda-Egga Day Central Planning Committee, Comrade (Prince) Mike Olanrewaju, described the conferment as a milestone for inter-community relations.

“We thank His Royal Majesty and the entire people of Ekinrin-Adde for this profound recognition. By celebrating service over status, you have shown the depth of your tradition and commitment to rewarding excellence,” Olanrewaju said. He added that the honour was also a testament to the peaceful coexistence between the people of Ekinrin-Adde and Egbeda-Egga.

The Egbeda-Egga community expressed appreciation to Oba Idowu and the people of Ekinrin-Adde for the recognition accorded to their son and daughter. Community leaders said the conferment represents more than a personal honour, calling it a step toward deeper goodwill, peaceful coexistence, and collective development between the two communities.

The ceremony drew a large gathering of traditional rulers, community leaders, and dignitaries, including sons and daughters of Ekinrin-Adde and Egbeda-Egga from all walks of life.
