The Kogi State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has stepped up its advocacy campaign, as it engages heads of federal agencies in the state as part of efforts to increase membership and enforce standards in public relations practice.
Chairman of Kogi NIPR, Ismaila Isah called on the heads of agencies to partner with the Institute in promoting professionalism and ensuring proper placement of officers with the right qualifications in public relations positions in federal establishments in the state.
Isah described the federal agencies as the closest representatives of the federal government at the state level, making their cooperation essential to entrenching effective strategic communication across both public and private sector organizations in Kogi state.
He stressed that stronger compliance with the NIPR Act would help curb professional misconduct, noting that the partnership could open doors to broader collaboration that would benefit the state.
Responding on behalf of the agency heads, Mr Gabriel Audu Adegbe, Coordinator of the Federal Character Commission in Kogi State and Chairman of the Heads of Federal Agencies forum, praised the initiative as timely and pledged the group’s support for the chapter’s activities.
He applauded the NIPR delegation for considering the association worthy of the visit.
Highpoint of the meeting was the decoration of Adegbe as an advocate of the NIPR Kogi chapter by the chairman.
