The Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KOSSAA) has threatened to commence immediate removal of unregistered political campaign billboards, posters and other Campaign materials from next week.
KOSSAA is the Agency empowered by law to regulate all forms of outdoor advertisement in the State.
The General Manager of the Agency, Hon. Richard Osaseyi stated this while presenting fees to be paid by Presidential, National Assembly, State House of Agency, Chairmanship and Councilorship Candidates for the General elections and Local Government polls respectively.
Hon. Osaseyi, said the agency would commence full enforcement of the regulations from next week.
He urged political parties, candidates, campaign organisations and billboard operators to register with the agency and obtain the necessary approvals before erecting or displaying campaign materials.
He cautioned that unauthorised campaign materials would be removed, while individuals or organisations found to have violated the regulations would face the appropriate sanctions.
He added that the move is not to witch-hunt any political party as the regulation is also binding on the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
