A political movement, Kogi First, has inaugurated its management teams across the 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi State with a call for unity, performance and continuity.
The inauguration was performed in Lokoja on Monday at by the Convener and Leader of the group, Commander Jerry Duro Omodara (Rtd).
Speaking at the event, Omodara said Kogi First was formed to bridge divisions and establish a direct line of communication and mobilization from the grassroots to the state level.
He said security, development and stability cannot thrive in a divided house, noting that fragmented politics breeds suspicion and stalls development.
Omodara said the movement aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the national level and the governance direction of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in Kogi State.
He listed the achievements of the Ododo administration to include consolidation of security operations, delivery of critical road networks and rural infrastructure, revitalization of primary healthcare centres and upgrading of education institutions, as well as support for agriculture to position Kogi as a food security hub.
According to him, the synergy between the Federal Government under President Tinubu and the Kogi State Government under Governor Ododo is yielding direct benefits, and policy consistency is needed for the people to reap the full benefits.

Omodara said leadership must be judged by measurable milestones, adding that governance should not be treated as a revolving door where every election cycle abandons ongoing projects.

He urged them to take the message of unity and performance to every ward and polling unit, resist divisive and ethnic narratives, and mobilize communities around tangible achievements.
“Kogi is larger than any single ethnic bloc. The debate should centre on competence, character, measurable delivery and capacity to keep our people safe and prosperous,” he said.
In their goodwill messages, the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Aliyu Umar, Gabriel Olofu, Sunday Shigaba, James Fabola and Austin Ochu among others pledged their total loyalty to the reelection of the Governor.
Earlier, the Coordinator of the Group, Alfred Bello stated that the group is committed to the Seamless return of Governor Ododo to Lugard House to consolidate on the good work he has started.
