The Provost of the Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa, Dr. Paul Femi Fashagba, has felicitated with Kogi and Nigerian youths as the world marks the 2026 International Youth Day.
In a statement to commemorate the Day, Dr. Fashagba described this year’s celebration as a timely reminder of the role young people play as drivers of innovation, change and national development, stressing that youths remain the backbone of the nation’s collective aspirations.
The Provost commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his consistent commitment to youth emancipation and recognition in governance, describing the administration’s efforts to create opportunities for young people and give them a voice in governance as commendable and worthy of emulation.
Dr. Fashagba noted that as an institution responsible for training the teachers of tomorrow, the College recognises the immense potential of its students and young Nigerians in shaping the nation’s future. He called on stakeholders at all levels to prioritise youth development, skills acquisition and quality education as tools for empowering the next generation.
He urged youths across Kogi State and Nigeria to remain focused, disciplined and committed to lawful and productive engagements that would better their lives and contribute meaningfully to societal development.
The Provost rounded off the statement with felicitations to young people across Kogi State and Nigeria on the occasion of the International Youth Day.
