The Member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Salman Idris, has expressed deep sorrow and devastation over the sudden death of the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Oyewole Mayowa Solomon.

In a statement issued on Friday, Hon. Idris described Solomon’s death as a deeply painful and heartbreaking loss, saying the circumstances surrounding his sudden passing had made the tragedy even more difficult to comprehend.

“Words are simply inadequate to express the depth of my sorrow over the sudden and tragic death of our brother, friend and party leader, Oyewole Mayowa Solomon.

“This is a devastating loss. That a meeting convened to foster reconciliation, unity and peace within our great party would end with the heartbreaking loss of one of our own is particularly painful. It is a tragedy that has left me deeply shaken and profoundly saddened.

“Mayowa’s sudden departure has created a painful void that will be felt not only by his immediate family and loved ones, but by the entire APC family in Ijumu and the people of the local government. It is extremely difficult to accept that someone who went to a gathering with the hope of contributing to the peace and progress of our party would not return home.

“My heart goes out to his wife, children, parents, siblings and the entire family at this incredibly painful moment. I cannot imagine the depth of their grief, but I pray that God will grant them the strength to bear this unbearable loss and the fortitude to carry on despite the pain.

“I also extend my deepest condolences to the leadership and members of the APC in Ijumu, our political leaders, stakeholders and, indeed, the entire people of Ijumu Local Government Area. We have lost a brother, a colleague and a committed member of our political family.

“Mayowa’s death reminds us, once again, of the fragility of life. At a moment when we were gathered to discuss unity and the future of our party, we were confronted with the painful reality that life itself is beyond our control.

“While we mourn, I urge all of us to stand firmly with his family and support them through this dark period. Let us also honour his memory by embracing the peace, unity and reconciliation that brought us together at the meeting where he passed.
