A Non Governmental Organization, One Initiative Foundation, founded by Dr. Sherifat Yusuf, has presented a support gift to its first beneficiary, marking the take-off of a programme that will fund the first delivery of every month at Southward Hospital & Diagnostic Centre, Edumo-Bunu in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The presentation was made on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the hospital.
Organisers said the gesture was aimed at easing the financial burden of childbirth and making quality maternal care more accessible to women and families in the community.
Dr. Yusuf’s initiative will see one expectant mother benefit every month, with the foundation covering the cost of her first delivery at the facility.
Representatives of the foundation described the programme as a beginning of sustained support for safe motherhood, expressing appreciation for the founder’s compassion, generosity and commitment to making a meaningful difference.
The foundation said the initiative was part of efforts to promote healthy mothers and healthy babies and to deepen community impact.
