The Iyamoye Community in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State will roll out the drums this Saturday, 31st October, 2026, for the celebration of Iyamoye Day 2026.
Chairman of the Planning and Organising Committee, Alhaji Sheriff Bello, who disclosed this in an urgent appeal to all sons and daughters of the kingdom at home and in the diaspora, said the day is more than an annual celebration but a homecoming, family reunion and recommitment to the growth of Iyamoye.

According to him, this year’s celebration will be colourful and impactful, with emphasis on three key pillars – Unity, Culture and Community Development.
Bello explained that Iyamoye Day remains a platform to strengthen the bond that binds the people as one, showcase the rich cultural heritage, traditions and values of Omo Arode, and preserve their identity for future generations.
He revealed that the major highlight of the 2026 edition is a fundraising drive targeting N500 million for the construction of an ultramodern Skill Acquisition Centre and other vital community projects.
“The vision goes beyond constructing a building. It is about creating opportunities for our youths, equipping our sons and daughters with practical skills, empowering our women and widows, promoting entrepreneurship and building a stronger local economy,” he said.
He appealed to all Omo Arode Dinrin Po’mo, friends of Iyamoye and neighbouring communities to come home en masse for the celebration.
On behalf of the Regent, High Chief Iliasu Babatunde Aminu, the Obadofin of Iyamoye-Ijumu Kingdom, the Traditional Council and the National Executives of Iyamoye-Ijumu Development Union (IDU) led by Alhaji Adeyemi Abubakar Shittu, Bello invited all to the event scheduled to hold by 10:00 a.m. at Model Primary School, Iyamoye.
