Iyamoye Kingdom in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State will on Saturday, October 31, 2026, host Iyamoye Day, a celebration of culture and unity that doubles as a N500 million fundraiser for community development.
The event, themed “Mobilizing Our Collective Strength for Growth, Progress and a Prosperous Future,” will hold at the Model Primary School Field, Iyamoye.
It is expected to draw traditional rulers, military officers, politicians, business leaders, professionals, philanthropists and sons and daughters of the community from across the country.
A highlight of the day will be the conferment of chieftaincy titles on distinguished personalities for their service, leadership and support for community development.
Gen. Christopher Gwain Musa (retd.), CFR, will be honoured and will also serve as Special Guest of Honour. His wife will also receive a title.
Prince Olatunji Olusoji, the Asiwaju of Ayere Kingdom, and his wife will be honoured, as will Maj. Gen. Alwali Jauji Kazir (retd.), CFR, and his wife.
The organisers said the titles would deepen the bond between the honourees and the people of Iyamoye.
The N500 million to be raised will go into the Iyamoye Community Development Fund. It will finance a Skill Acquisition Centre and other projects meant to improve the livelihoods of residents and create opportunities for youths and women.
Sons and daughters of Iyamoye, corporate organisations, philanthropists and development partners have been invited to contribute.

The programme will also feature traditional music, dances and cultural displays, as well as presentations by youth and women groups showcasing their talents and enterprise.
Traditional rulers and leaders from neighbouring communities are also expected to attend.
The Secretary of the Planning and Organising Committee, Olorunmaiye Joel, said the event was more than an annual gathering, describing it as a celebration of identity, heritage, achievement and collective responsibility.
