The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC has joined other security Agencies to monitor conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections in Kogi State.
The Corps in a statement by its Public Relations Officer in the State, Agiri O Alex stated that ACG Makinde Iskilu of INT DEPT NHQ, monitored the election alongside Commandant Ahmad Ahmad Gandi, Commissioner of Police, INEC Commissioner (REC) and Service Cheifs of other Sister Agencies in Kogi State.
Some of the polling unit visited were cases of late arrival of voting materials, incomplete ballots papers, disfunctional Bimodal Voter accreditation System (BVAS).
Snatching of ballot boxes by hoodlums in some local Government Areas
Consequence upon this, led to the declaration of Kogi State by INEC as one of the States where voting will continue in eight (8) polling unit on the 26th February 2023.
Voting has commenced in the polling unit.
As at the time of this report, the collection center is set, awaiting results from the polling units.
The Kogi State Commandant Ahmad Ahmad Gandi and heads of other sister agencies are in attendance as Security observers awaiting the arrival of results from the polling units.
