Dear Kogi West delegates and citizens,
We wish to thank you sincerely for the hundreds of solidarity calls and text messages from you in response to two ill-conceived and malicious write ups falsely suggesting that Dr. Muyi Aina (DMA) risked disqualification from the Senatorial contest. As is to be expected, DMA was duly and completely cleared by the screening committee with high accolades and compliments from the committee chairman and members.
Notably, almost every single caller knew precisely where such malicious falsehood originated from, being a signature tactic of the sponsor. We wish to reassure all DMA’s teeming supporters and generality of Kogi West citizens that we will uphold the high standards of decorum and decency already established by our campaign.
We will not be dragged into mud with those used to that, but will continue promoting our positive message of the end of a retrogressive era, and a new beginning for our people and our land. We deserve leaders who will treat us with respect and dignity, and not those who habitually insult our collective intelligence and attempt to manipulate us with cheap lies.
We encourage the culprit to start acting his age and learn to win or lose with dignity. To serve as a deterrent, we have commenced appropriate legal action against one Johnson Awe David, who was the tool in this criminal libel case.
We thank our other co-contestants for conducting their campaigns honorably, recognizing that we will remain one family when these elections are over.
To Kogi West delegates, we ask that as you cast your votes next week, please choose DMA for a new beginning. We have already seen what the old has to offer. It is time to move to the new, for competent, people-centered and development-oriented representation in the red chamber.
