Multiple award winning Director in the National Assembly Service and National Vice President 3 of Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association (EACDA), Chief (Mrs) Bukola Olorundami-Ayeni will on the 21st of June 2024, be Inducted into the Omo-Atata Hall of Fame at the Awards-Night scheduled to hold on the eve of Ekinrin-Adde Day Celebrations.
The induction of Dr. Bukola Olorundami was made known by the National Publicity Secretary of Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association (EACDA), Adewale Victor Adekanye.
Chief(Dr) Bukola Olorundami-Ayeni was born to late Mr. Daniel Otitonaiye Olorundami and late Chief Madam Rachael Ebun Olorundami (Nee) Ibimotele of the Aofin Agbaluju Royal Dynasty in Ekinrin Adde, Ijumu Local Govt Area of Kogi State.
She did her Kindergarten at the St Paul’s Anglican Primary School, Ekinrin Adde before she moved to Kaduna where she completed her Primary Education in 1980. She proceeded to Oyo for her secondary Education and completed it at the Baptist High School Ekinrin-Adde, Kogi State in 1985.
From 1985-1987, she went to the then Kwara State College of Technology (Kwara Tech), now Kwara State Polytechnic, for her A-Levels which was completed in 1987. Between 1987-1990, she went to the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and acquired a B.A (Hons) in English Language.
Dr. Bukola Olorundami was posted to Kaduna State for her NYSC from 1990-1991. She started working at Arewa Textiles where she prepared the Company’s junior staff for WAEC. By March of the following year after completing her assignment, Dr. Bukola was redeployed to the Leadway Assurance Company, where she completed her NYSC between March to September 1991.
Immediately after her NYSC, she went back to her Alma Mata, the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1991 for her Master’s Degree and by 1994 she was awarded an M.Sc. in Political Science. While studying for her Masters, she was a part time Lecturer at the School of General and Remedial Studies and also at the Faculty of Education, ABU. She also participated in the yearly marking of WAEC and GCE Exam Scripts.
In 1995, she secured an appointment as a Reporter with Abuja Mirror, a branch of Today’s Communications. She cut her teeth in journalism with her column in the weekly paper and rose to become the Woman Editor of the weekly Newspaper and the Chapel Chairman of NUJ. It was while she was working there that her organization granted her a scholarship to do a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism at the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja in 1997. By 1998, she secured an appointment with the West African Media Network (WAMNET) as the Programmes’ Officer. One of the major assignments she facilitated was the compilation of a Directory of West African Media Women.
Dr. Bukola was appointed as a Curator with the National Commission for Museums and Monuments (NCMM) in 2004. Three months into her engagement, the National Mathematical Centre appointed her as the Principal Public Relations/ Protocol Officer to the Centre. By 2005, Dr. Bukola was appointed as a Principal Legislative Officer by the National Assembly Service Commission for National Assembly (NASS) Service. She was thereafter, posted to the House of Representatives as a Committee Clerk. In NASS Bureaucracy, Committee Clerk is the Head of the Committee Bureaucracy and the Committee is the engine room of Legislative work. As Clerk to the Committee, her job is enormous and time demanding.
She served in the following Committees;

Committee on Housing and Urban Development, 2006-2007,
Committee on Housing and Habitat 2007-2011
Committee on Millennium Development Goals (MDGS) 2011-2015
Committee on Sports 2015-2016
Committee on Telecommunications 2016-2023.
Committee on Communications 2023 to date.
In 2021, Dr. Bukola bagged a Ph.D in Security and Strategic Studies from the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK). She is presently pursuing another Ph.D in Social Work.
She has undergone numerous conferences, programmes, training both within and outside Nigeria. Notable among them were different short courses at the USA, Parliamentary attachment to the Australia Parliament in Canberra, different short Courses at the UK, Geneva Switzerland, Short Courses at Kualar Lumpur Malaysia, Rio Brazil, Dubai UAE, Hungary, Spain, China, Korea (KOICA) etc.
As a career Public Servant, she is a Director in the National Assembly Service.
As a Committee Clerk in the House of Representatives and given the numerous opportunities available to her, Dr. Bukola Ayeni has been performing her duties with all sense of responsibility expected from a public servant.
She facilitated various development Projects to her community, Ekinrin Adde and some other Communities in Okun land including Kwara state. Some of which includes: Motorised and Solar Powered boreholes, Solar Lighting of Ekinrin-Adde and other communities in Okunland. Access roads. Construction of Skill Acquisition Centre. Construction and Equipment of Blocks of Classrooms. Provision of modern sport equipment for schools. Construction and Equipment of ICT Centres, etc.
Dr. Bukola is a Member of the Governing Board of the Rachael Ebun Olorundami Widow’s Oil Foundation. A Foundation she set up with her siblings in her mother’s name to care for widows, Orphans and the less privilege.
She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance (FCILG) USA.
She received several awards and recognitions, notable among which are:
Gold Award 2009 In recognition of her contribution to Social and Economic Development of Ekinrin Adde, by the then Olu Adde and the Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association, (EACDA.
Otun Iyalaje of Ekinrin Adde, 2010, In recognition of her selfless service and contribution to the growth and development of the people and Community, also by the then Olu- Adde and the EACDA.
Merit Award, 2010 In appreciation of her selfless Service and other Contributions made to the growth of the Diocese, Diocese of Ijumu, Anglican Communion.
Otun Iyalode of Diocese of Ijumu, 2019 In recognition of her contribution to the spiritual Growth and development of the Diocese, Diocese of Ijumu, Anglican Communion.
Merit Award, 2011 In recognition of her immense contribution to the Growth and Development of Ijumu Communities, by the Ijumu Development Movement.
Recognition Award, 2020, 50th Anniversary (Golden Jubilee Celebration) of Baptist High School Ekinrin Adde, in recognition of her selfless service, contribution, cooperation, support and good wishes to the School over the years.
Chief (Mrs) Bukola Olorundami-Ayeni was the Miss. Ekinrin Adde in 1985 (Miss Silver Jubilee), during the Silver Jubilee anniversary of the Students’ Union. She was also a member of the then Falcon Club, one of the first social clubs to be established in Ekinrin Adde in the 80s with personalities like His Royal Majesty, the Olu Adde of Ekinrin Adde, Olu Anthony Bamigbaye Idowu, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, Olu-Omo Felix Akin Obafemi, Prof. Oluwatoyin Babalola, Mr Clement Oluranti Buari, Elder Deinde Toyin Komolafe, etc as members.
She is presently the National Vice President 3 of the Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association (EACDA)
She is also the President of Okun Development Association, National Assembly branch, Abuja.
She is happily married with Children.
