“A Man of Honour and Integrity,” Iyara Community Celebrates Appointment of Prof. Amupitan SAN as INEC Chairman

The people of Iyara, headquarters of Ijumu Local Government Area have rejoiced with Prof. Joash Amupitan SAN on his appointment as the first Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from North Central and Kogi State.

 

According to the National President of Iyara Development Association, Alhaji Aliyu Badaki in a felicitation message made available to Newsmen in Lokoja stated that the appointment was well deserved and a round square in a round hole.

 

Alhaji Aliyu described the new INEC Boss as a man of honour and integrity, who has distinguished himself in the Legal Profession, pointing out that he has the capacity to deliver on his mandate.

 

On Behalf of the people of Iyara, Headquarters of Ijumu Local Government Area, we celebrate with a distinguished son of Ijumu land, Prof. Joash Amupitan SAN on his appointment as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). You have no doubt written your name in gold, becoming the first man from the North Central and Kogi State to occupy that exalted position.

 

“We rejoice with you on this milestone and we are confident that with your antecedents and capacity, you will not disappoint Nigerians and the trust reposed in you by the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

 

The IDA President offered prayers for an impactful and rewarding tenure in office with wisdom and good health to change the electoral system of the country.
