The All Progressives Congress APC in Ijumu Local Government has threatened to deal with members who indulge in anti party activities.

This is coming few days after the former Assembly member representing Ijumu Constituency, Yori Afolabi was suspended over anti party activities in the last National Assembly and Presidential elections.

“It has come to our notice that some appointees, stakeholders,Ward Executives and Local Government Executives are moving round our wards with candidate of other parties ( most especially African Democratic Congress ADC).”

This therefore is to serve as a special warning and candid advice from leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijumu Local Government to all her members to desist from any anti party activities or any resemblance of such.

“A few days ago, the Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government, Hon. Taufiq Isa with some party leaders while canvassing votes for All Progressives Congress House of Assembly Candidate,Hon. Omotayo Ishaya caught Former Kogi State House of Assembly Minority Leader, Hon. Yori Afolabi red handed, where he was holding meeting with ADC candidate at his residence in Iyah Gbede. Subsequently, his ward party executives expelled him.”

“More will follow if others don’t abstain from anti party activities. All Progressives Congress is a party with absolute discipline that will not condone any form of anti party activities from any member. No matter how highly placed the person might be.

“If you want to be in APC, stay and work for the party as no one will be allowed to stay in APC and be working for opposition parties.

“The leadership of the party will continue to beam their search lights on every member of the party, most especially Leaders, Party Executives, Elected representatives and Appointees (State and Local), as we are aware that some in this category are the ones taking opposition candidates from one community to the other.

“Ahead of next week Saturday’s House of Assembly election, votes will be canvassed for by the leadership of the party and we will emerge victorious.

The statement was signed by Hon. Taufiq Isa, Chairman, Ijumu Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Paul,

Local Government Party Chairman and Hon. Funsho Olumoko, DG, Presidential Campaign Council in the Local Government.
