The Honourable member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Hon. Leke Abejide and Gubernatorial aspirant of ADC has said power should be zoned to Kogi West Senatorial district.

In a statement signed by him, Hon. Abejide said for the sake of equity, fairness and justice for the people of Kogi West senatorial district power should shift.

He stated that Kogi West are conquered people and not slaves as posited by Distinguished Senator Smart Adeyemi, Kogi Westerners are the most educated, vast and resourceful in Kogi state and have been very supportive of other Senatorial districts in Kogi state.

” Kogi Westerners have not in any way shown arrogance or fight dirty for power rather they have been supportive of other senatorial districts and have used their God-given treasures to support the other two senatorial districts in Kogi state.

He stated that Kogi West people are the most patient to both Kogi East and Kogi Central in their bids to govern Kogi state, checking their success stories Kogi Westerners made most of their government successful, why must a Kogi west be treated as a 3rd citizen in the same state? Where is the equity and fair treatment? he said.

This is is the time to pay Kogi west back and allow power to shift to the Westerners, the people of Kogi East and Central should reciprocate the kind gestures of the west after all the patient dog eats the fattest bone but it seems the patient dog has nothing left to eat.

Hon. Abejide appealed to other political parties in Kogi state especially APC, PDP and ADC to look inwards and consider aspirants from Kogi West extraction, after which the seven local governments in Kogi west will consider critically who to support across party lines.
