I THEOFHILUS OLORUNMADE, the CHIEF WHIP of Ijumu Legislative Council hereby write to dissociate my self from the purported suspension arrangement of Hon Amupitan Fatai, the Majority Leader and Hon Mayowa Olumodeji Councilor representing Okoro Igah Ward that took place yesterday, 9th January 2023, as the Business of the day was 2023 Budget and not suspension of any member.

I, this morning woke up to the reminder of the fact that Ijumu must move forward and can’t be achieved in disunity, I am a progressive Honourable and won’t join anything that my conscience will not be able to defend. Hence, I reject the purported appointment as the majority Leader by 7 members and hereby sue for peace.

I on this note want to clearly state that I refused to be used against my people to disunite Ijumu and not even now that we are approaching electioneering period that we have a lot to face.

I want to use this medium to call on the Executive Governor of the State, the Commissioner for Local Government and Ijumu Leaders to step into the crisis rocking Ijumu and settle it before it gets out of hand.

I remain my Honorable self,
THEOFHILUS OLORUNMADE

CHIEF WHIP IJUMU LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
