Declare State of Emergency on GSSSS Egbeda Egga, Stakeholders Task Kogi Govt.

Kogi State Government has been called upon to declare state of emergency on Government Special Science Secondary School Egbeda Egga in Ijumu Local Government Area.

The National President of Egbeda Egga Development Union, Doctor Emmanuel Otitolaiye made the remark at the twenty twenty three Egbeda Egga Day over the weekend.
The Egbeda Egga Day 2023 is a repackage celebration aimed at promoting the rich culture and tradition of the Community as well as raising fund for community development.
Part of the immediate need of the Community is addressing the poor state of the Government Special Science Secondary School Egbeda Egga which is currently in a dilapidated condition.

This according to the National President of Egbeda Egga Development Union, Doctor Emmanuel Otitolaiye is why one of the reasons for the Celebration, urging government and public spirited individuals to come to their rescue as education is the only industry of the Community.


He also appealed to the State Government to address the bad road network ad well as other infrastructure deficit in the Community.
In his remarks, a Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Abiodun Ojo also expressed concern over the state of the School and commended the Organisers for projecting the cultural heritage of the Community to the world.
The Chairman of the Occasion, Professor Cornelious Osagbemi described the event as a platform for showcasing cultural heritage and fund raising for community development.
Professor Osagbemi urged sons and daughters of the community to be ever United for the peace and progress of the community.
Also Speaking, the Obaro of Egbeda Egga, Oba Noah Obademi assured that the cultural festival will be sustained , saying the Programme has come to stay.

The event featured different cultural performances including Igbafun, a celebration of maiden and youths ad well as displays from Tiv, Bassa and indigenous cultural troupes.
