Egbeda-Egga Day Repackaged to be Bigger, Better as CPC Fixes 6th September 2025

The Central Planning Committee of Egbeda-Egga Day tagged “Egbeda-Egga Day 2025: Bigger and Better” has fixed 6th September 2025 for the epoch making event.
This was the outcome of its meeting over the weekend as Chairman of the Egbeda-Egga Day Central Planning Committee (CPC), Comrade (Prince) Mike Olanrewaju, noted that this year’s Egbeda-Egga Day Celebration will be bigger and better than ever.
According to Joseph Aiyejoto, Chairman, Publicity Sub-Committee, the event aims to unite sons and daughters of Egbeda-Egga, both locally and internationally, to celebrate their rich cultural heritage and contribute to the community’s development; with N600 Million fund-raising for community development projects.
Aiyejoto added that the event will showcase Egbeda-Egga’s rich cultural heritage, including traditional dances like Bereke, Igbafun, Amuro, and Ere Iyawo, as well as local cuisine.
Among dignitaries to grace the event are His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo as Special Guest of Honour; Hon. (Arch.) Salman Idris, Member House of Representatives, Chairman of the event; Prince Olatunji Olusoji, the Asiwaju of Ayere Kingdom, Chief Launcher; Chief (Mrs.) Toyin Kosoko Omole, the Yeye Ewe of Gbedde Kingdom, Lady Chairperson; among other very important personalities, including traditional leaders, political and opinion leaders from Ijumu and Okunland.
While the Royal Host is the Obaro of Egbeda-Egga, Oba (Engr.) Noah Olumide Obademi, FNSE, the Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna is the Chief Host.
The statement maintained that different activities have been planned to cater for different interests and age groups.
Highlight of events lined up for the Egbeda-Egga Day 2025 include the following: raising funds for community development projects, particularly internal road construction and maintenance, to enhance residents’ quality of life and access to essential services.
In the same vein Conferment of Honorary Chieftaincy Titles by the Obaro of Egbeda-Egga, His Royal Highness, Oba Noah Olumide Obademi, FNSE, on Hon. James Faleke; Chief Hope Iyayi and Prof. Sam Ale.
Similarly, Some individuals and corporate bodies will be given awards of recognition for their contributions to the growth and development of Egbeda-Egga and humanity in general.
 Also, a health outreach programme to provide medical services and promote health awareness among community members will hold on Friday, 5th September, while a charity programme, championed by the Egbeda-Egga Development Union (EDU) Women Wing, to support vulnerable community members will also hold same day.
The Egbeda-Egga Day 2025 celebration is expected to attract dignitaries from across Ijumu, Okunland, Kogi State, Nigeria, and the Diaspora. Sons and daughters of Egbeda-Egga, both locally and internationally, are expected to attend, making it a momentous celebration of community and culture.
Egbeda-Egga Day 2025 celebration promises to be an unforgettable experience, filled with cultural displays, community development initiatives, and recognition of outstanding individuals. As the community comes together to celebrate its heritage and contribute to its development. It is set to be a truly historic occasion.
