Eid el Adha: Ohimegye Igu Advocates Peaceful Coexistence

The Ohimegye Igu, Koton-karfe, Dr. Saidu Akawu Salihu has underscored the importance of peaceful coexistence among members of the community.

 

Addressing the people of Koton-karfe after performing the two rakaat Eid Prayer, the Ohimegye appealed for a collective effort towards the development and progress of the region.

 

The monarch urged the youth to sustain engagement in farming, agribusiness and others vocations to promote self sufficiency.

 

The Ohimegye Igu sought for continued prayers for the land and support for the government of Alhaji Usman Ododo to sustain the laudable programmes and projects across the state.

 

The traditional ruler further commended security personnel for their bravery and sustained efforts to combat criminal activities so as to ensure orderliness and safety of citizens.

 

In his sermon after leading the Eid prayer at the Koton-karfe Central Eid ground, Chief Imam of Koton-karfe, Alhaji Musa Yakubu Liman admonished the Ummah to embrace the values of sacrifice and generosity as they celebrate the Eid.

 

Alhaji Musa emphasized that Eid El Adha commemorates the obedience and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim and his Son, Ismail and needed to be emulated by all.

 

While encouraging the congregation to use the period in seeking forgiveness and drawing closer to Allah while also celebrating in moderation, in line with the Islamic teachings, the Chief Imam further enjoined the faithful to monitor children and bring them up in sound morals.
