The National leadership of Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association (EACDA), has expressed shock over the unfortunate death of the Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in the February General election, Chief Olaiya Michael Olobatoke.

The Community in a statement by Adekanye Victor Adewale, National Publicity Secretary, EACDA “on behalf of HRM Olu Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu, the Olu-Adde of Ekinrin-Adde, Ekinrin-Adde Traditional council, the Olu-Ade in council and the good people of our Community, express our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, associates and good people of Owe land on the demise of their illustrious son, Chief Olaiya Michael Olobatoke which came to us as a rude shock.

The statement further reads “Chief Olobatoke held a Chieftaincy title in Ekinrin-Adde and was very close to HRM and our Community, infact he always referred to Ekinrin-Adde as his second home. Olobatoke was a great man who loved our community and never missed any opportunity to contribute to her development. His contributions and love for Ekinrin-Adde, culminated in his being bestowed with the honorary chieftaincy title of Otunba Atuluse of Ekinrin-Adde kingdom by HRM in June 2022.

“Chief Olaiya was a complete lover of Okun land, a renowned philanthropist and a positive contributor to his constituency. He lived a short but impactful life. He will be sorely missed.

“We wish his family, friends and the entire Okun land, the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
