On Monday, the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelebu, dropped this hint at Aba as the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commissions the Aba Integrated Power Project by the Geometric Powers, Nigerian Tribune has reported.
President Bola Tinubu had also commissioned three roads rehabilitated by the state governor, Alex Otti, all in Aba: Omoba Road, Jubilee Road, and Queens Street, Aba.
In his speech at the commissioning of the power plant, the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelebu, disclosed, “An end is coming to estimated billing. There will not be estimated bills any longer”, as consumers will now know what he is paying for.
Speaking on the power plant, he said, “The Integrated Aba Power Project is a sign that the long-standing power problem in Nigeria will be resolved,” adding, “The solution begins today,” and called on the Aba people to secure the power project.
Speaking while commissioning the geometric power plant, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by the Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima, noted that “this project bears testimony to the power of dreams,” describing the power plant as a “changing project,” and adding that “today in Abia, we saw testimony of good leadership.”.
Earlier, while commissioning the three roads, President Bola Tinubu applauded Gov. Alex Otti, stating that Abia State is working, disclosing that the presidency is proud of the developmental strides of Governor Otti in the state, and asserting also that Governor Otti has brought his experience to bear in the administration of Abia State.
Within the last nine months, the people of Abia State have witnessed a change in their fortunes. Abia is working, and we are quite proud of the accomplishments of Dr Alex Otti, who has brought to bear his wealth of experience, intellect, and exposure to the development of Abia State,” he said, emphasising that quality leadership is very crucial to the development of society. He thanked Gov. Otti for his humility and respect, as well as the development he is bringing to Abia.”.
Speaking earlier, Otti said the roads being commissioned are strategic roads and stressed that the roads are built to last.
