The first ever Telemedicine Facility in Southern part of Nigeria including Kogi Kwara has been launched in Isanlu Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Telemedicine is the delivery of quality healthcare services by Medical professionals, using information and communication technologies (ICT) for the exchange of valid information for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease and injuries, research, and evaluation.

The Isanlu Telemedicine Facility was facilitated by REEF Lambo Foundation founded by Prof. Eyitayo and his wife, Dr. Lambo in collaboration with Dr. Funmi Adewara a multi-award winning UK based Nigerian British Physician and Cambridge trained Bioscience Entrepreneur with prerequisite background in Clinical Medicine, Pharmaceutical and Business Development in the healthcare and energy sectors.

The paramount Ruler of Isanlu Kingdom and Chairman Yagba East Local Government Traditional Council, HRM Oba Moses Babatunde Etombi while speaking at the launch of the Facility, expressed delight over the development, describing it as a thing of joy to the Isanlu Community and its environs.

Oba Etombi said technology is the fastest way of getting Medical service, saying the Facility will reduce Medical tourism of the people of Yagba land.

He noted that the Telemedicine Facility will address the challenges of lack of health workers in hospitals as the people will now access healthcare through the use of ICT.

The Traditional Ruler commended the Former Minister of Health, Prof. Eyitayo Lambo and Dr. Funmi Adewara for locating the facility in Isanlu and prayed God to reward their labour of love for the Community.

The Coordinator of the Foundation, Elder Elijah Owu explained that the Isanlu Telemedicine Clinic is also a mobiHealth teleHealth that will provide quick access to general and specialized Doctors 24/7.

Elder Owu enumerated the benefits of the Clinic to include; genuine medication and testing, nutritional and Mental health support, assistance during pregnancy, contraceptive delivery and after delivery among others.
