The new Caretaker Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Alh. Haruna Ibrahim says he is on an assignment to stamp out insecurity in the Area.
Alh. Haruna stated this when he paid Royal homage to members of the Ijumu Local Government Traditional Council at the Olujumu’s Palace at Iyara.
He stated that he is on an assignment to change the narrative of leadership in the Area by carrying everyone along to ensure safety of lives and Property.
The Caretaker Chairman promised not to interfere in the affairs of the Traditional Council, saying after his swearing in, he decided to visit the Royal Fathers to thank them and solicit support and prayers.
He requested for their unwavering support in his bid to fish out bad eggs in the Local Government and assured that he will not disappoint the confidence reposed in him.
Alh. Haruna expressed gratitude to Governor Yahaya Bello, the Governor-Elect, Alh. Usman Ododo, State Party Chairman, Alh. Abdullahi Bello, Chief Abiodun Ojo, Barrister Tunde Ayeni and other Critical stakeholders for finding him worthy of the appointment.
The member representing Ijumu Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Omotayo Adeleye-Ishaya described the appointment of Alhaji Haruna Ibrahim as the best thing that has ever happened to the Area.
She told the Ijumu Traditional Rulers that the New Caretaker Chairman has the capacity and all that is needed for purposeful leadership, adding that he will not disappoint them.
In his remarks, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Chief APS Arogundade solicited the support of all and sundry in the Local Government for the new Leadership.
Immediate past Secretary of the Local Government, Hon. Alex Obaropo said Alh. Haruna deserve the appointment as he has demonstrated selflessness and put smiles on the faces of people.
The Olu Adde of Ekinrin Adde, Olu Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu while congratulating the Caretaker Chairman assured of his unalloyed support and emphasized on improve on IGR in the Local Government.
The Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom and Chairman Ijumu Local Government Traditional Council, Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni thanked all that played critical role in the peaceful appointment of the Caretaker Chairman, saying the Traditional Council will give him the needed support.
Oba Ayeni enjoined Alh. Haruna to run an open door policy and unite Ijumu people both at home and in diaspora and expressed hope that his administration will be meaningful and eventful.
The Traditional Rulers took turns to offer prayers for the Caretaker Chairman to succeed.
