Lilian Emerges HATMAN President, Promises To Consolidate Achievements of Past Administrations

The National body of Hospitality and Tourism Management Association of Nigeria (HATMAN) has elected an international Consultant of repute, Dr. Lilian Chinenye Managwu as its National President.

 

Dr. Lilian was elected alongside other Executives at the 18th International Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Association held in Abuja.

 

In her acceptance speech, she expressed gratitude to the Leaders and members of the Association for the confidence reposed in her and other Executives, promising not to disappoint them.

Dr. Lilian also expressed her readiness to consolidate on the track record of the previous leadership of the Association especially the immediate past Officials.

 

“The interests of the general members of the association are of utmost consideration in any proposed policy and regulation relating to the organization. During our tenure, the interest of members will be prioritized especially on policy- making and any other consideration that has to do with the association, said the New National President.

 

According to her, “the work indeed is enormous and challenging but we are committed and determined to forge ahead. We will definitely remain focused in our efforts to ensure that by the end of our tenure, we will record tremendous improvement by God’s grace.”

 

About Lilian Chinenye Managwu 

 

Lilian as fondly called holds a Ph.D in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike Umuahia, Abia State. M.Sc in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Imo State University Owerri, Imo State.

 

She bagged Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Bayero University, Kano, Kano State. Higher National Diploma (HND) in Hotel and Catering Management, Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, Bauchi State.

 

Aside from formal Academic accomplishments, Lilian has undergone several short courses and trainings in Hospitality related fields :- Hospitality and Tourism Management Association of Nigeria (HATMAN) organized Executive Hospitality and Tourism Management course, many Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Train-The –Trainer courses; Basic Trainers Development Course (BASIC MANDEV); Advanced Trainers Development Course (ADVANCED MANDEV) both at the Centre for Management Development Shangisha, Lagos which qualified her as a registered trainer in Nigeria.

 

Dr. Managwu is an accomplished Hospitality industry expert with an industry work experience spanning over 25 years rising from Housekeeper, Food and Beverage Manager to Pioneer General Manager Operations of the 210 bedrooms Royal Tropicana Hotel Kano.

 

She is the Lead Consultant /Trainer, Strand Consulting, a hospitality Consultancy Group based in Port Harcourt as well as a Lecturer with the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management Department of Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Unwana Afikpo.

 

Dr. Managwu is the 1st National Vice President of the Hospitality and Tourism Management Association of Nigeria (HATMAN), a Fellow of the Hospitality and Tourism Management Association of Nigeria (HATMAN).

 

She is a Fellow, Institute of Business Executives and member of the National Institute of Training and Development (NITAD) and Co-Ordinator, Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria, Rivers State.
