The member representing Yagba Federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Customs and Excise, Hon. Leke Abejide has distributed food items, and other empowerment items to constituents.

The items are; bags of Rice, Beans, Cars, Tricycles, Motorbikes, Grinding Machines, Sewing Machines, Water Pumps, Generators, Mechanical tools and other empowerment equipments were distributed to constituents across Yagba Federal Constituency.

Speaking during the distribution, Hon. Abejide stated that as part of his pledge to always stand by the constituents in times of need, his primary responsibility is to make laws and represent the interest of the people but would not hesitate to come through for them during tough times.

“As a representative of the people, my primary duties are to propose laws that will help us achieve our goals, represent the interests of my constituents, and oversee the executive arm of government to ensure better service delivery. However, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, during tough times like this in the life of our nation, it is also a matter of duty and responsibility for me to support my constituents through social intervention programmes such as the one happening today,” he said.

Hon. Leke stated that this is not the first time he has been distributing food items and empowerment tools to his constituents.

This massive initiative is particularly crucial given the escalating food prices as inflation has surged to nearly 30%.

Hon. Leke Abejide’s aim with this program is to ensure that families across Yagba receive vital food provisions and empowerment items.

He said the distribution committees at the ward levels must ensure that the food items reach every ward and unit across Yagba Federal Constituency.
