Hon. Salman Idris Condoles with families of Felele Accident victims, urges FG to Redesign Road

The Member Representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Hon. Salman Idris, has extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the recent Felele accident.

 

In a statement, Hon. Salman said Felele road has become a recurring site for fatal accidents, with five students of Kogi State Polytechnic losing their lives in December 2024, and the most recent tragedy occurring on February 17, 2025, claiming the lives of seven individuals, including six students of Federal University Lokoja.

 

The member of parliament , urged the Federal Ministry of Works to prioritize the immediate redesign of the Felele Express, incorporate accident-prone zone notifications, expand lanes, provide a durable concrete surface and make provision for over head pedestrian bridges at nodal towns along this all important national access road .

 

He further expressed his condolences to the Kogi State Government and the university community over the unfortunate incident.
