Hunger Protest: Olujumu Calls For Restrain, Tasks Ijumu Obas on Maintaining Peace

The Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Oba Dr. Williams Olusegun Ayeni has called for restrain on the hunger Protest, cautioning against destructive demonstration.

Oba Dr. Ayeni in a statement also urged Obas in Ijumu Kingdom to prevail on the youths to embrace peace.

 

“Your Royal Highnesses, It has come to our notice that the youth are planning a national crises’ tags,nationwide protest on the names of hunger and suffering between 1st -10th of August 2024.

“I want to remind you of our main responsibility, which is to maintain peace in our domain. I equally want to remind you about the council decision in our last meeting, urging Royal Fathers not to allow any kind of destructive protest to happen in your domains. Let us do every possible thing to keep Ijumu, Kogi & and Nigeria peaceful.

 

“There’s no doubt that protest is a fundamental human rights but people should not take laws into their hands to destroy or loot under any means. May God help us. Please pass this message across Ijumu towns and villages.
