A Leading Aspirant for Ijumu two Constituency in the 2027 Kogi State House of Assembly election, Hon. Molu Ariyo has withdrawn from the race.

NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL FROM THE KOGI STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY RACE — IJUMU CONSTITUENCY II.
After extensive consultation and profound reflection on the imperatives of development and contemporary political equity within Iyara Ward, I, Hon.Molu Ariyo, former deputy chief of staff to Ijumu local government chairman, Hon. Taufiq Isa has resolved to withdraw my aspiration for the Kogi State House of Assembly seat representing Ijumu Constituency.
Iyara Ward,though the administrative headquarters of Ijumu Local Government Area, has endured disproportionate political marginalisation despite its unalloyed loyalty and consistent electoral victories for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at every poll. This paradox of loyalty without commensurate patronage necessitates urgent redress.
A cursory analysis of current appointments reveals the depth of this inequity: Iyara Ward has only three Senior Special Assistants to the governor of Kogi State and one director general of the State Health Insurance Agency.
This stands in stark contrast to Some neighbouring Wards, which currently boasts Honourable Commissioners, Special Advisers to the Governor, Senior Special Assistant, the Director General of the Kogi State agencies, and a Board Members of numerous higher institutions.
Although I have undertaken rigorous preparation and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming election, I was prevailed upon by eminent stakeholders and respected personalities across Ijumu-Arin and Ijumu LGA to yield to a consensus candidate whose stature and capacity are considered more formidable than mine.
In deference to the collective interest of Iyara Ward, in furtherance of community development, and in adherence to the counsel and admonitions of revered Iyara elders, I hereby formally step down from the House of Assembly race and wholeheartedly endorse any aspirant from Iyara.
I urge all my supporters, political associates, and the entire people of Iyara Ward to transfer their unalloyed loyalty and supports to the consensus candidate, as we collectively pursue justice, equitable representation, and accelerated development for our community and Ijumu Local Government at large.
