Ijumu Legislative Council Endorses Governor Ododo for Second Term, Passes Vote of Confidence on LG Chairman

The 7th Ijumu Local Government Legislative Council has endorsed Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for reelection in 2027.

 

Also, the council passed a vote of confidence on the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Alh. Haruna Ibrahim.

This is contained in a resolution after the sitting of the Lawmakers presided over by the Council Leader, Hon. Ibikunle Modupe following a motion moved by the Councillor representing Okoro/Igah Ward, Hon. Ayodele Dorcas Jumoke and seconded by Hon. Thomas Oluwatoyin, representing Ayetoro/Iluhagba Ward.

 

 

 

The Council praised Governor Ododo’s outstanding performance providing good governance for the people of the State, welfare of Civil Servants, infrastructure development and security of lives and property.

 

They commended his timely payment of workers’ entitlements and inclusive developmental projects across Kogi State, especially in Ijumu.

The Council described his leadership as “unprecedented” and unanimously endorsed him for re-election, urging the people of Ijumu to support the move.

 

In a related development, the Ijumu Legislative Council says the Vote of Confidence on the Chairman Alh. Haruna Ibrahim was in recognition of his strategic leadership style, transparency and accountability, describing his achievements in area of infrastructure, youth empowerment, and especially security as unprecedented and remarkable.

 

 

“His collaborations with traditional rulers, community leaders, and security agencies were credited for maintaining peace and unity in the LGA.

 

Beyond commendation, these resolutions signal the Council’s commitment to continuity, good governance, and collaborative leadership. They reflect a unified institutional stance that prioritizes stability, progress, and the collective well-being of Ijumu citizens and the broader Kogi State.
