Ijumu LG Caretaker Chairman Flags off Another Distribution of Food Palliative Across 15 Wards

The Transition Caretaker Chairman Ijumu LGA, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna on Monday flagged off distribution of food palliative aimed at cushioning the effects of the present economic hardship occasioned by the subsidy removal.

 

The food items are to be distributed across the 15 Ward’s of the local government.

Recalled, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo on 20th, April, 2024, flagged off the second quarter distribution of food palliative to people of the state.

 

The caretaker Chairman, while speaking at the event, explained that the distribution is the second since the beginning of this year.

According to him, about 50kg of 242 maize, 50kg 363 sorghum, 50kg of 121 millet, and 25kg of 121 of garri will be distributed across the Wards in the Local Government.

 

The caretaker Chairman cautioned all the Committees in charge of the distribution at the ward levels to prioritize the fear of God above all other considerations, saying that the government will not hesitate to apply sanctions to anyone found diverting the items or engaging in activities contrary to the agreed distribution procedure.

 

Alhaji Haruna applauded Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his continued commitment to alleviating the suffering of the people.

 

He described the Governor as a blessing to the people of the State, urging the people of Ijumu Local Government to support him for more gains of democracy.

 

Earlier in their goodwill messages, Chief APS Arogundade, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) appreciated Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for putting smiles on the faces of the masses, charging the Ward Committee in charge of the exercise to carry everyone along irrespective of political party affiliations.

 

On his part, Barrister Femi Oloruntoba, the Secretary General of Okun Development Association, in his goodwill message, thanked the Governor of Kogi State for being sensitive to the suffering of the people at this crucial moment.

 

Barr. Oloruntoba lauded the Caretaker Chairman for his unrelenting efforts aimed at uniting the people of the local government and prayed fervently for more grace to succeed in his responsibility to the people of Ijumu Kingdom.
