Ijumu LG Chairman Performs Foundation Laying of Another Primary Health Care Centre

In a bid to improve healthcare accessibility and enhance the well-being of residents, the Chairman of Ijumu Local Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna, has performed the foundation for a new Primary Health Care (PHC) center in Iyamoye.

 

The move is in line  with the Kogi State Government’s commitment to strengthening the health sector and ensuring that rural communities receive adequate medical attention.

Speaking in a message to the the ceremony, Alhaji Haruna expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his support to health care development at the grassroots.

 

Represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Muyiwa Aiyedogbon noted that the establishment of the health center is a strategic step toward providing affordable and accessible medical services to the people of Iyamoye, with a special focus on maternal and child healthcare, immunization, and emergency medical care.

The Chairman further assured residents that his administration remains committed to executing people-oriented projects that will positively impact their daily lives.

 

He called on community members to take ownership of the project, safeguard the facility, and work closely with health personnel to ensure its efficient operation upon completion.

 

Community leaders, traditional rulers, and residents who attended the event commended the State and local government’s efforts, describing the project as a long-awaited solution to the healthcare challenges faced by the people of Iyamoye and its neighboring communities.

 

Alhaji Haruna reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to partnering with the state government and relevant stakeholders to drive sustainable healthcare development in Ijumu Local Government, ensuring that every resident has access to quality medical services regardless of their location or financial status.

Responding on behalf of the Community, the Obaro of Iyamoye, HRM. Oba Ibrahim Momoh applauded the outstanding leadership quality of the Chairman, describing the project as a timely intervention.

 

He also expressed appreciation to th State Governor, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo for the attention given to the health sector.

 

The groundbreaking event marks another milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare delivery across Kogi State, reinforcing the government’s determination to improve the quality of life for all citizens.
