Improved Power Supply: Hon. Salman Pushes For Completion of Abandoned  Okebukun Transmission Station

The Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has assured the people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency that the 132/33KV transmission station located at Okebukun near Kabba will be completed soon.

 

The assurance was given during a visit by the Member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Honourable Salman Idris, to the Minister’s office in Abuja on Monday.

The Okebukun transmission station, which started in 2014, has critical equipment over 80% completed, but work has been stalled.

 

Honourable Idris emphasized the importance of completing the project, highlighting its potential to radiate 6 feeders to feed 3 local government areas of Kabba-Bunu, Ijumu, and Mopa-amuro in Kogi West senatorial district.

The non completion has no doubt grounded economic activities considering the importance of power to our livelihood.

 

In response, the Minister assured Hon. Idris that activities will soon resume at the site, leading to the completion of the project.

 

This assurance brings hope to the people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, who have been waiting for the project’s completion for years.

 

The completion of the Okebukun transmission station will undoubtedly boost economic activities in the area, providing power to homes and businesses.
