Nigerian Army Promises Enhanced Security For Corps Members

The General Officer Commanding, 1 Division Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Major General MLD Sarazo has assured that officers and men of the Division would ensure that Corps Members and NYSC formations within it’s areas of operation continuously enjoy maximum protection.

He said all Corps Members serving at the Division are equally accorded high priority with other privileges alongside the Army Officers.

In a statement by Director, Information and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa , The GOC disclosed this when the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Kaduna.

He stated further that NYSC has always been a part of the Nigerian Army, hence, the need to foster stronger relationship between both government establishments.

General Sarazo added that the Division would continue to work with other sister security agencies, community leaders, traditional rulers, religious groups, political leaders and other stakeholders in the effective discharge of its duties.

“We will continue to provide adequate security for all Corps Lodges, NYSC Secretariats and Orientation Camps”, he said.

The Director General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, while speaking earlier, congratulated the GOC on his appointment.

He disclosed that 1 Div Kaduna is one of the critical stakeholders of NYSC, especially by providing robust welfare package, security and other logistics support for Corps Members serving at the Division.

General Ahmed also commended the Division for its numerous support for NYSC Kaduna State Secretariat, through the deployment of military personnel to the Orientation Camp for drills, physical training and other security matters.
