Kogi State House of Assembly is to Probe one Godwin Isah over alleged fraudulent dealings on land and trespass at Apamisede in Adavi Local Government Area.

This followed a Petition by one Mrs. Sefi Okpekete Bajeh which was addressed to the Speaker and read on the floor of the House by Hon. Cosmos Atabor.

The Petition reads “On the 14th of July, 2016, I purchased a land measuring 100ft x 100ft situate at Apamisede Village Behind LGEA Primary School in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State from One Godwin Isah. A deed of Assignment was executed by us (myself and Godwin Isah) after the payment of the sum of N900, 000 (Nine Hundred Thousand Naira) only for the said land.”

According to the petition, Mrs. Bajeh said “I have also developed the land by fully fencing the land and mounted a gate on it which shows I have taken full possession of the property. To my greatest surprise and dismay, Godwin Isah via a text message Informed me that he has revoked my land which have fully fenced with a gate.

“After receiving such message and threat from Godwin Isah, I visited my land and I discovered that part of my fence had been demolished and a structure erected on my land as threatened by Godwin Isah. The said Godwin Isah is still threatening me with thugs even after selling my land to another person.”

She stated that “the continuous threat and trespass on land by Godwin Isah and his allies around the Apamisede Community is becoming alarming in recent times and capable of causing a breakdown of law and order. Hence, it is expedient to call the said Godwin Isah to order in the interest of Public peace and sanity.”

She prayed the House to “Summon Godwin Isah to appear before this Honourable House to give explanation as to his involvement in the encroachment on my land as well as the demolition of part of my fence.”

That “Godwin Isah should be requested to rebuild the demolished part of my fence or made to pay compensation for same.”

“To further restrain Godwin Isah or his privies or cronies from encroaching on my property or threatening me in respect of the land.”

“To direct Godwin Isah to inform those he sold my land to, to vacate my land and stop further erection on the said land. It is my prayer that the esteemed House should intervene in this situation and help me reclaim my property from the hand of Godwin Isah.
