The Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo, has lost his father, Alhaji Ahmed Momoh sani Ododo, who passed away on Monday at the age of 83.

In a statement issued by Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the state’s Commissioner for Information and Communications, the government described the elder Ododo’s passing as a painful loss to the family and the state.

The statement announced that his Janazah (funeral) would be conducted in line with Islamic rites.

We pray to Allah (SWT) to forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus. We also pray that Almighty Allah grants the Governor, his family, and the entire Ododo family the strength to bear this great loss with fortitude,” the Commissioner said.

The late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, who was widely respected in his community, is survived by children and grandchildren, including Governor Ododo.
