Kogi: Ukwenya Out As Ambo Emerges Acting AA Chairman

Acting Chairman of the Action Alliance in Kogi State, Deacon Fred Ambo says the Party is Ready to takeover Lugard House as he expresses hope of victory come 11th next Month Governorship Election.

Speaking during a Press Briefing at the Party Secretariat on Saturday in Lokoja, Deacon Ambo urged electorate to give their massive votes to the Candidate of the Party, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh.

According to him, candidate of the the Party is a man to beat as he has good plans capable of taking the State out of poverty into prosperity.

He said his coming on board was necessitated by the dismissal of the suit by Kenneth Udeze challenging the Adekunle Rufai Omoaje as National Chairman of the Party.

He stated the elsewhere Chairman of the Party in Kogi State, Musa Ukwenya, who belonged to the Udeze faction cannot continue to lead the Party, hence his emergence.

“I came in not just yesterday, we have been on ground. After series of legal battles, the Supreme Court laid the problem to rest by recognising Omoaje as the authentic Chairman of the Party and he is the one recognised by INEC.

The Acting Chairman further states that “we the executives and members of Action Alliance want to make it categorically clear that the party is intact and in support of the assignment of Otunba Olayinka Braimoh for the State.”

“With recent development that has made INEC to finally obey the Supreme Court judgement and recognised Hon. Omoaje as the authentic Chairman of our great party, Action Alliance AA, a caretaker committee has been appointed to oversee the affairs of the State, headed by my humble self, Deacon Ambo.

“Without missing words, AA in Kogi remains one house and body determined to win this election. We urge all our members not to be distracted by the activities of the former Chairman, Musa Ukwenya, who has been going about to disparage our movement for a better Kogi State.

He urged other members not to be distracted but focused on winning the Gubernatorial election.

When asked to clear the air on rumours of the Candidate holding forth the ticket for someone, the Acting Chairman stated that Governorship Candidates will step down for Braimoh, saying “instead of stepping down, he is stepping up.”
