Kogi West Elders Forum Set To Adopt Governorship Candidate

Dissolve All Standing Committees

The Kogi West Elder’s Forum a body of highly reputable men and women of proven integrity from the Western Senatorial District of Kogi State has concluded plans to announce its adopted Candidate for the Gubernatorial election.

According to a statement by Dr. Tunde Arosanyin on behalf of the Forum, the Group has also dissolved its Committees.

Recall that the Forum has been working assiduously since 2015 on power rotation to the zone and is gradually closing up on a choice of a candidate from the zone for the November 11th governorship election.

Also, “It will be recalled that the Forum that comprises of individuals with enviable track records from various field of life and career, set up some committees to interface with critical stakeholders, socio- cultural groups across the three senatorial districts on the acceptability, accessibility, character among other factors on each of the candidates from the Western Senatorial District contesting for the office of governorship.

“All the committees turned in their reports at the last meeting of the Forum. While thanking the committees for a job thoroughly done, the Forum appreciates all of them for their sacrifice and time. The meeting thereafter dissolves all the committees. The Forum also looked into the manifesto of the candidates and other enablement, the statement added.

“Finally, the process that is still ongoing will soon be completed and everyone concerned will be duly briefed at a larger meeting to be convened very soon.

The Forum appealed to the candidates to eschew the good spirit of sportsmanship, stating that they are all eminently qualified for the number one seat of the state in line with fundamental human right principle but stated that only one person can occupy the seat at a time.

It further appealed to the two senatorial districts of Central and East of the state to support the Western Zone in its quest to promote, the unity of the state through equity, fairness and justice.
