The Provost of Kogi State College of Education Ankpa, Dr. Paul Femi Fashagba, has been conferred with the Award of Excellence as Icon and Grand Commander of Nigerian Students by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone C.
The honour is in recognition of his exceptional leadership and commitment to student welfare and effectively piloting the affairs of the College.
The award was presented during a courtesy visit by the NANS Zone C leadership, led by Comrade Jamilu Ebo, who were on a North Central zonal tour and stopped over at the Provost’s office as part of the exercise.

According to the association, the recognition celebrates Dr. Fashagba’s outstanding contributions to the advancement of quality education, his dedication to creating an enabling learning environment, and his commitment to policies that enhance the academic and personal development of students.
NANS noted that the honour reflects the confidence reposed in his visionary leadership, commending his efforts in championing students’ interests while maintaining accountability and prudent management of institutional resources.
Responding, Dr. Fashagba commended the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his continued support to tertiary institutions across the state, pledging the institution’s unalloyed support for the Governor ahead of 2027.
The institution has since congratulated Dr. Fashagba on the honour, reaffirming its commitment to sustaining excellence in educational service delivery under his leadership.
