The traditional ruler of Ekinrin Adde Kingdom in Ijumu LGA, Oba Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu, has conferred the chieftaincy title of Otunba Maiyegun on Mr. Olayinka Braimoh, the Action Alliance (AA) candidate in the November 11 governorship election in Kogi State.

The business man and philanthropist was decorated with the insignia of the new title by Oba Idowu and members of his Council of Chiefs during this year’s Ekinrin Adde Day celebrations which took place on Saturday.

The Chieftaincy title, Otunba Maiyegun, which simply means the Chief that advises the King on how to bring prosperity and high standard of living to the people, defines and perfectly symbolises the wealth creation and distribution agenda of the AA gubernatorial candidate.

It will be recalled that Braimoh’s blue print for Kogi State centers on wealth creation, distribution and retention which are to be achieved through his STAT Agenda (Solid minerals, Agriculture, Tourism and Trade).

In his response after the conferment of the title, Braimoh said: “I thank our royal father, his Council of Chiefs, and the good people of Ekinrin Adde community for this honour and I promised to be a good ambassador of the Kingdom. I am on an assignment to make the people of Kogi State happy.

From the local government employees to all the civil servants in the state, there will no longer be rationed salaries and all your entitlements will be paid as and when due. My wealth creation agenda will, no doubt bring prosperity to the State. We will eliminate unemployment as it breeds poverty. By His grace, I will attend the next Ekinrin Adde Day as the Governor of Kogi State”.
