Prince Dayo Akanmode Visits Elulu of Mopa, Applauds Innovation of Oba Ibeun To Royalty

National Treasurer of Okun Development Association (ODA), Prince Dayo Akanmode on Friday paid a visit to the Elulu of Mopa, HRM. Oba Muyiwa Ibeun at his palace in Mopa, Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State.

 

The visit gave the Seasoned Administrator and the Monarch the opportunity to discuss about the Unity of Okun land and how Traditional Rulers from the five Yoruba Local Government Areas and Oworo land can support ODA to achieve set goals.

 

Prince Akanmode, while congratulating Oba Ibeun on his appointment and successful ascension to the throne of his forefathers, said the Monarch had started well by bringing innovative ideals to Traditional Institution of the Local Government.

 

Both leaders were of the opinion that the Okun people both home and abroad had lost so much ground as a result of disunity.

 

They also agreed on Critical Areas that needed the quick attention of the ODA National Leadership while Prince Akanmode also used the visit to brief His Royal Majesty on the achievement of the Association in the last six months.

 

The achievements according to him includes; inauguration of several Committees which include; Reform Committee, Security Committee, Economic Committee and Constitution Review Committee.

 

Prince Akanmode saluted the Mopamuro paramount Ruler for bringing dignity, grand style and candour to Royalty in Okun land and wished him good health and successful reign.

 

He told Elulu of Mopa that despite the fact that ODA inherited about N200,000 from the immediate past Executives, a new Secretariat in kabba has been acquired, paid for with renovation going on.

 

He expressed worry over the negative perception of some Okun Elites about the Association that it can not perform.

 

He explained that the present ODA is thinking out of the box but needs encouragement of all and sundry not condemnation as the mouthpiece of Okun at home and in diaspora.

 

Responding, Oba Muyiwa Ibeun while appreciating the visit of Prince Akanmode said he took over the stool based on the need to provide purposeful leadership to Mopa people and to attract development to the Community.

 

According to him, for Okun land to develop, all sons and daughters of Okun must see unity of purpose as a necessity.
