Public Office is Service to Humanity, Ex Minister Tells Political Office Holders

Former Minister of Information, Prof. Jerry Gana says holding public office is service to humanity.

Speaking with journalists shortly after the Easter service at the cathedral church of St. John Bida Niger State, Prof. Gana said Leaders must live an exemplary life worthy of emulation like that of jesus christ who came to save man, adding that Leaders must have a change of character that would impact ordinary citizens.

” if we have enjoy resurrection power of Jesus christ, then we should be an example wherever we are; in the home, we should be an example, in the society we should be an examples of solid character of Christ, the character of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness you are not selfish, you are selfless. Let our people have the impact especially if God gives us opportunity to be Leaders in the community, in the State or in the federal, this is how your changed character affects what you do.”
The former minister who said public office is for service which is used to generate goodness for the common masses, called on the incoming administration in Niger State to serve the people irrespective of political parties or religion. ” whoever is in public office should do public good, leadership is to generate goodness for the ordinary people, extreamly important, light of God in our life should shine brightly that people can see our good works and praise God our heavenly father.

Meanwhile the Bishop of Bida Diocese, Anglican Communion, most Rev’d Jonah Kolo, said the incoming administration most key into what jesus christ came to do on earth in order to have a successful tenure.

” they most see Him as the Lord of Life, they most see Him as the prince of peace, they most see Him as the king and the God who is able to lead us, they should study His word and accept those commands which He give so we can live well.

Bishop Kolo use the season to called on Leaders to seek the wisdom of God and to do his will daily.
