In what seems to be a demonstration of fulfilment of a promise made, the member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Salman Idris has donated about 10 street lights to Okoro Gbede Community in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Chief Pedro Durotiwon, National President of Okoro Gbede Development Association (ODA) made this known in a statement made available to Journalists.

The Lawmaker had during the last year’s Okoro Gbede Day promised the Community, solar power street lights.

Chief Durotiwon, while confirming the receipt of the solar lights expressed appreciation to the House of Representatives member for the gesture, describing him as a rare gem and promise keeper.

According to him, the gesture of the Federal Lawmaker is a step in the right direction, coming at the time that the Community needs more alternative source of energy to light up Okoro Gbede in the wake of the current battle against insecurity.

The Statement reads “Okoro Gbede Community is happy to announce the donation of 10 Solar powered street lights from Hon. Arc. Salman Idris member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber. On behalf of the people of Okoro Gbede land, we express our profound gratitude to Hon. Salman for keeping to his promise to our Community.

We do not take this for granted as a Community, this will further provide illumination in the Community especially at night by exposing those using darkness to perpetrate their nefarious activities.

According to Chief Durotiwon, “the Community is happy and grateful for the act of the Lawmaker and prayed God to reward and grant him the grace to do more for God and humanity.

While calling for more provision of dividends of democracy to the Community, the ODA National President assured the Federal Lawmaker of the prayers and support of the people of the Community.
