Subsidy Removal: Bida Poly Considers Part Payment Of School Fees

The Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Engr. Dr. Baba Aliyu Haruna says the institution’s management is considering introducing part payment of school fees from next academic session.

Speaking during a staff assembly held at the Twin Lecture Theatre of the institution recently, Dr. Haruna stated that this in reaction to the present economy hardship in the country.
The Rector explained that this policy will enable parents pay sixty percent (60%) in the first semester and the Forty Percent (40%) in the second semester.
He reiterated his administration’s desire to bring back the “Bida Standard” of old beginning from revisiting the issue of Cumulative Point Average (CGPA) for academic which is currently below one point.
The Don said that those who cannot meet up with the new academic standard would be re-admitted into the newly established entrepreneurship centre for skill acquisition.
He announced that the Reconciliation Committee setup to bring genuine peace on campus has submitted its report and its recommendations is receiving the desired attention.
He tasked the institution’s staff to always be punctual at the duty post as entitlements and other emoluments will be given priority by his administration.
In his Words “No work that goes with entitlement will be done without been paid immediately”.
In a similar development, the former, Deputy Rector of the institution Engr. Dr. Manukaji has advised the new Rector to provide effective leadership that will ultimately allow him to achieve the goal of returning the institution to its glorious days.
