The Executive Chairman of Kogi State Science Technical Education and Teaching Service Commission (STETSCOM) Hon. Cecilia Cook on Friday received in her office the National Executive Committee members of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary School (ANCOPSS) from the North Central Zone ably led by Mr. Ogiri Christopher.
The visit as part of the activities to mark the zonal meeting of the Body in Lokoja, the State Capital which ends today Saturday 20th January, 2024 and to identify with her as a member of the Body having served meritoriously as a School Principal.
In his remarks, leader of the group, Mr. Ogori Christopher, who described Hon. Cecilia Cook as the Iron Lady of Education, took time to extol the sterling leadership roles and her commitments to the Secondary Education Sector both in Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole, particularly in the area of quality and effective service delivery.
He noted that the excellent performance of Mrs Cook was as a result of the development template of Alhaji Yahaya Bello the Executive Governor of Kogi State.
He also enumerated the numerous areas of Governor Yahaya Bello’s giant strides in Education to include: the building of Model Secondary Schools across the 3 Senatorial District of the State, establishment of two additional State Universities, approval for the extension of teachers years of service, recruitment of qualified teachers to address the shortage of teaches in the state, as well as the sponsoring of an Executive Bill for the establishment of Kogi State Senior Secondary Education Board, amongst other.
Responding, the STETSCOM Executive Chairman Hon. Cecilia Cook appreciated the leadership of the Body for the honour done her on the courtesy call.
She reiterated that having being a member of ANCOPSS for many years in the past, she has no doubt as to what the Body stand to achieve in the education industry in Nigeria.
She prayed for their hitch free stay and fruitful deliberations during the meeting of the members in kogi state.
Hon. Cook equally thanked Governor Yahaya Bello for the opportunity giving her to serve in her present capacity as the Executive Chairman of Kogi State STETSCOM.
