You’re More of a Journalist than those who Claim to be One, Kogi NUJ Chairman Hails Senator Oseni

The Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Yakubu Oseni on Tuesday Inaugurated a digital economy Centre he facilitated for Kogi State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ.

 

The Federal Lawmaker while speaking at the Inauguration held at the NUJ Press Centre Lokoja, noted that the move was to enable working Journalists in Kogi meet up with the rest in the world.

 

According to him, Kogi Journalists cannot be left behind as the world has already gone digital, hence the donation of the ICT centre.

 

He noted that the gesture was not to get praises from people but his believe in doing things right.

 

The Senator charged the Members of Kogi NUJ to utilize the Digital Economy Centre to develop themselves to enable compete favourably with others.

 

The Chair of the State Council of NUJ, Comrade Adeiza Momoh-Jimoh, who was elated by the gesture, said the Centre will improve digital skills of Journalism Practice.

 

“We, the working Journalists of the state and our friends from other disciplines to show our appreciation to the distinguished Senator Oseni for deeming it important to give us this Digital Economy Centre to enable us improve ourselves more on digital skills required for the practice of modern Journalism in a world that is digital knowledge-oriented.”

 

He said Media Professionals will continue to be grateful to the Lawmaker for the Centre despite not being a Journalist or contesting for elective position in the next election.

 

“We should also note that the Senator is not on the ballot for 2023 election. He is not contesting election back into the Senate. Yet, he has chosen to help the Union with this befitting Digital Economy Centre.

 

“He is a good man. He is doing what he knows how to do best. Oseni is cut out for good things.

 

“He knew he had sought for the vote of the electorate in order for him to have the opportunity to deliver the dividends of democracy to them. That is exactly what he has done with this special donation to us.

 

“He is not the kind of Senator who will drink the palm wine served him by the people and break the palm wine keg. He is a greatful man.
