2025: Kogi LG Chairman Presents Over N5b Budget to Legislative Council

The sum of ₦5,326,974,600 billion has been presented by the Chairman, Kogi LGA, Hon. Musa Abdulmalik Nyaba as budget proposal for the 2025 fiscal year.

 

Presenting the budget to lawmakers at the Legislative Chambers, Kogi Local Government Secretariat, Koton-karfe, Hon. Musa Abdulmalik Nyaba explained that out of the total sum proposed for the LGA, capital expenditure amounted to ₦1,985,267,210

 

This, he noted was distributed among Administrative sector; ₦330,000,000, Economic sector;₦750,276,210 and the Social sector with ₦905,000,000.

 

According to Hon. AbdulMalik, recurrent expenditure for the new financial year was ₦3,341,707,390 with the sum of ₦2,499,659,270 as personnel cost and ₦842,048,120 as overhead.

 

The Kogi Council Chairman further explained that expected revenue sources include allowances; ₦2,387,463.130, V.A.T; ₦2,624,681.410, Special Funds; ₦197,787.920 as well as I.G.R; ₦117,042.140.

 

Honourable AbdulMalik further commended Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Ahmad Usman Ododo for his transformational efforts in the state as evident in the developments witnessed across all sectors of the state economy in one year.

 

While equally appreciating the Kogi Legislative Council for collaborating with the Executive arm, the Chairman appealed to the council lawmakers to give due consideration to the budget for the betterment of the people.

 

The Kogi Legislative Council Leader, Hon. Alhassan Bilkis promised that members would ensure due consideration and quick passage of the budget.

 

The event had in attendance top management and staff of the Kogi LG council, political office holders, women and youth leaders as well as party stalwarts.
